Skin boosters, explained: Rejuran® and Profhilo®
How these injectable skin treatments work, how they differ, and what to expect on the day.

Skin boosters are injectable treatments that improve the quality of the skin itself (its hydration, texture, elasticity and glow) rather than adding volume or changing your features. Two widely used options are Rejuran® and Profhilo®.
Rejuran®: supporting repair and renewal
Rejuran® is made from polynucleotides (PN), DNA fragments purified from salmon. Delivered through fine micro-injections across the treatment area, it aims to support the skin's natural repair processes. People often consider it for dull or tired-looking skin, rough texture, enlarged pores and early fine lines. A course of around three sessions, a few weeks apart, is typical.
Profhilo®: deep hydration and bounce
Profhilo® is a highly concentrated form of hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the skin. It is injected at a few specific points on each side of the face and spreads gently beneath the skin, improving hydration, firmness and elasticity. It is commonly given as two sessions about four weeks apart, and can also be used on the neck.

Which one is right for me?
It depends on your skin and what you would like to improve, and the two are sometimes combined. At your consultation, our doctor will assess your skin and recommend the option, or combination, most likely to help.
What to expect on the day
- A numbing cream may be applied first to keep you comfortable.
- The injections themselves take only a short time; allow a little extra time for preparation.
- Small bumps or redness at the injection points are expected and usually settle quickly.
- You will receive aftercare advice, which typically includes avoiding makeup, saunas and strenuous exercise for a short period.
Good to knowResults build gradually as the skin responds, so the full effect is usually seen a few weeks after a course is completed. Results vary between individuals.
